This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. People do not understand that mental illnesses, such as depression, are actual chemical imbalances in your body. They are not brought on by choice.
Erase the stigma. The more we talk about mental illness, the less likely it will end in suicide.

“Gawd, you live in a first-world country, why do you have cancer??”
“I lost my job, too, and you don’t see me getting cancer!”
“Why can’t you just stop having cancer??”
“I can’t stand being around people who have cancer. All they ever do is talk about having cancer!”
“You’re taking a day off work because of cancer?? Man up!”
“Smile. Cancer’s not that bad.”

“How long is is going to take for you to get over this cancer thing?”
“Yeah, you have cancer, but you not having any energy to do things is just laziness.”

“Look, if you’re not going to fight this cancer like we tell you to, you’re going to have to go to a halfway house. Maybe then you’ll realize that cancer isn’t that bad.”

“you don’t look like you have cancer, you should stop taking these meds! and you definitely don’t need to go to the hospital. it’s not like you have a broken limb.”

‘When I get cancer, I relax and watch some funny movies and then I feel better!’

“Well, there’s cancer, like you and I and everyone gets sometimes, and then there’s cancer, you know?”

“Snap out of it, your life’s to good for you to have cancer.”

“pffft so what if your bald? JUST BUY A WIG PROBLEM SOLVED”

“You’re privileged, you can’t have cancer.”
“You’re privileged, you shouldn’t have cancer.”
“Sometimes I get cancer, but I suck it up and get over it.”

“Back in my day, we walked FIFTEEN miles in the snow when we had cancer! AND THAT’S HOW WE LIKED IT!”
Also, if you think people should be locked up because they walk down the middle of a busy street flipping people of, trying to contact Russian submarines on their microwave, or act incredibly violent without provocation, I got a nasty little word for you called bigotry.
The first thing actually happened to me and family and the second thing is an example of what an old neighbor of mine did, but mentally illness is totally like cancer, you guys!
